Agreement & scope

These Terms govern your access to and use of Awwwarded — the website, the platform, and every feature offered through it. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Interpretation

In these Terms, “we”, “us”, and “our” mean Awwwarded; “you” means the person using the service; “content” means everything you submit or publish through the platform; and “awards” means the distinctions granted under our Evaluation System.

Eligibility & accounts

You must provide accurate, current information when you register and keep your credentials secure. One account per person, and you are responsible for everything that happens through your account.

Membership tiers and any role grants — such as jury membership — are determined by Awwwarded at its discretion, and may be changed or withdrawn where the rules of the platform require it.

Plans & subscriptions

Submitting a website requires an active Plus or International subscription. Plus includes up to five submissions per year; International is unlimited. A slot is used when you start a submission and is returned to your account if you delete the draft before submitting it, or if the submission is rejected during moderation — entries that stay in review or are published keep their slot for the year. A Basic account is free of charge and includes browsing the gallery and jury scores, a public creator profile, and joining team submissions as a collaborator. Current plans, prices, and benefits are always shown on the Pricing page.

Plans are billed in US dollars through our payment provider, and subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. We remind you before each renewal, and you can manage your plan, payment method, and invoices from your billing page.

You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for. If a renewal cannot be processed, we will email you so you can update your payment details — your membership may lapse until the payment is completed.

We may change plan prices or features from time to time. Changes that affect your current period take effect only from your next renewal, and we will notify you in advance.

Links to other websites

Awwwarded links out to external websites — including submissions, creator portfolios, and clearly marked Promoted placements. Some of those links may be affiliate links: if you buy something after following one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. External sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content.

Submissions

A submission must accurately describe the website it presents — including its live URL, title, description, category, technologies, and colors — and must include quality visual material and accurate credits for every collaborator.

Submissions must be your own original work, and you must have permission to present every part of them. Do not submit websites you do not own or have no authority to showcase.

You keep full ownership of the work you submit. By publishing a submission, you grant Awwwarded a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to display it — on your profile, in the gallery, on evaluation pages, and in award announcements — for as long as needed to operate the service.

Misleading or inaccurate submissions may be rejected or removed.

Moderation & publication

Every submission is checked by hand before publication. We may approve or reject any submission, and may ask for corrections where details are incomplete or inaccurate. A rejected submission returns its slot to your account, so you can act on the feedback and submit again. Rejected submissions are permanently removed thirty days after the decision.

We may also remove published content if it later breaches these Terms or the rights of others.

Evaluation & awards

Published submissions are scored by independent jury members under our Evaluation System. Jury scores are calculated as described there and are final — published results are never removed and never re-scored.

Awards — Honorable Mention, Site of the Day, Developer Award, Site of the Month, and Site of the Year — are granted according to the Evaluation System. Site of the Year eligibility is reserved for International members. Awards depend entirely on jury scores; we cannot guarantee any particular result.

Awards obtained through manipulation, misrepresentation, or any attempt to influence jurors improperly may be revoked.

Certificates

Every award includes a downloadable certificate issued to the credited creators. You may use your certificates to present and promote your work, but you may not alter them in a misleading way or use them to imply an endorsement that was not granted.

Acceptable use

No fraud or impersonation; no scraping, resale, or misuse of the service; no content that infringes the rights of others or breaks the law; and no interference with the platform’s security, availability, or evaluation process.

Accounts that break these rules may be suspended or terminated, and the content involved may be removed.

Intellectual property

The platform itself — its design, brand, text, and code — belongs to Awwwarded and may not be copied or reused without permission, except where the law allows. You keep all rights to your own content, as described under Submissions.

Third-party services & links

Payments are processed by our payment provider under its own terms, and the platform contains links to websites created by others. We are not responsible for external services or content, and your use of them is at your own discretion.

Availability & changes to the service

We work to keep Awwwarded available and reliable, but we may modify, add, or retire features over time, and availability may be interrupted for maintenance or for reasons beyond our control. Where a change materially affects a paid plan, we will give reasonable notice before it takes effect.

Suspension & termination

You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time from your settings.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, and may restrict access to the platform where necessary to protect users or the service — explaining the reason where we can.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work hard to keep evaluation fair and the platform reliable, we do not warrant uninterrupted availability, freedom from errors, or any particular outcome from participating.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Awwwarded’s total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amounts you have paid to Awwwarded in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Awwwarded against claims arising from content you submit or from your breach of these Terms — including reasonable legal costs — to the extent permitted by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the date below reflects the latest revision. Where changes are material, we will notify you through the service before they take effect. Continued use of the service after an update means you accept the revised terms.
